Foundational Drawing Courses Bundle


This course is available to students who taken the Intro to Dynamic Sketching Workshop. It encompasses the Foundations of Linear Perspective and Dynamic Sketching courses and presents students with a more comprehensive look into linear perspective and dynamic sketching.

Linear Perspective

Students will develop their understanding of one-, two-, and three-point perspective in the following topics:

  • The four constructions and their variants
  • Simple and complex slopes
  • Control of camera angle, tilt, focal length
  • Deeper application of measure points
  • Practical application, advanced topics, and shortcuts

Dynamic Sketching

Students will grow their understanding of drawing form in the following subjects:

  • Observational drawing, basic form, light, texture, focal point
  • Organic form
  • Aquatic Life
  • Insects
  • Bones
  • Geometric form
  • Vehicles and Machines
  • Application

Course Instructor

Taren Morse Taren Morse Author

Taren Morse is a founding member of Arts Atelier 146. In addition to creating and developing her own graphic novel, providing workshops for universities, and exhibitions, she was recently a Professor of Art in Arkansas and Kentucky as well as an Online Course Developer. She teaches drawing, painting, and illustration, both traditional and digital. She received her MFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University where she developed her skills in concept art for film and game design as well as graphic novel. Her skills branch into a variety of genres including sculpture and even website design. She draws most of her inspiration from God’s creation, taking pleasure in observing the strangest and sometimes creepiest He has to offer. Additionally, her passion for learning has driven her interests in reading, coding, studying foreign language, and unicycling.

Course Materials

Linear Perspective:
  • Recommended: Multi-color BIC Pen
  • Drawing compass, protractor, straight edge
Dynamic Sketching:
  • Required: Sketchbook. Strathmore 400 series Spiralbound is recommended. Paper can be white, tan, or gray.
  • Recommended: Felt or needle tip Drawing Pens (Example: Micron or Faber Castell)
  • Optional: White Pen if using if toned paper.
