Storyboarding: Directing Through Drawing
Description
In this course students will learn the foundation for cinematic narrative filmmaking storytelling through storyboarding. Students will use the visual tools of filmmaking through drawing to think like filmmakers when staging a scene using character acting, environment, props, cinematography and timing.

Cinematic Film Language Foundation: Composition, Shot structure and flow, camera movement, what is the shot for
Module 2 • Storyboarding
How to write a scene (What are you passionate about? What do you want to say in the story?)
Using 3D Software Tools: Unreal Engine, Blender
Module 3 • Storyboarding
Editing in Storyboarding: Think like a Director and Editor
Staging: How to use the Background and Environment to enhance the story
Module 4 • Storyboarding
Analyzing Character Performance and Acting (character objective, obstacles, emotion and thought)
How to Key Animate in Storyboards (key pose, breakdowns, secondary animation)
Module 5 • Storyboarding
Analyzing Cinematography (Camera movement) and Lighting (key light, full light, rim light, shadows)
Module 6 • Storyboarding
Professional Roles & Preparation for Storyboard Team (storyboard director, artist, revisionist)
Analyzing Sound Design and Music
