Course Outline

Module 1 Understanding Context

In this module, students learn the importance of understanding the context of the modeling project. The student will complete a block in for the modeling project they will be completing through the course.

Module 2 Breaking Down the Scene

In this module, students will learn some great tips and tricks that will help them complete the process of breaking down their scene into separate assets and recompiling in a master scene using references.

Module 3 High Rez vs Low Rez

In this module, the use of high rez vs low rez modeling is discussed. Students continue to work on set dressing models and are guided through more highly useful Maya tools.

Module 5 Good Enough vs Detailed

In this module, students learn the importance of believability and the balance of good enough vs detailed in a production environment. The tips and tricks provided help students learn to create clean models for the production pipeline.

Module 6 Demo Reel

In this module, students will finalize their set design and make a demo reel. Through this process they will learn the importance of making set design choices to meet deadlines.
